It´s a good thing though that they decided to put the Olympics on at the same time I´m hospitalized...
But seriously, sure the days passes along slowly, but I have to say that the medical health system we have here in Sweden is pretty awesome! Tax money comes to the use of the actual person paying the money, not like some other tax money spendings.... Allthough, I´m sorry that only a small part is spent as sallary to the skilled and nice pesonnel atcuallyRead More...

Due to poor snow conditions it was´nt until about now we had sufficiant snow depth to be able to go out to hit the mountaines.
I was airborne for about 128 feet and I failed to make the 130 feet gap so Read More...

-06 Ski-Doo REV 800 pro

This is my primary sled. I bought this last year (2008) and it was fitted with twin pipes, twin TMX 44 mm carbs and Kickass air filters. Theese things be as they may but when push comes to shove, my oppinion is that Bombardier exceded themselves when they made the stock single 800 pipe. I´ve mounted the stock pipe, stock carbs and stock air filters and the result was easy to see... More torqe and a motor much less sensitive to temperature and level of hight.<brRead More...

I built this sled last year (2008) because I had the motor, so I bought a -05 440 REV only to pull out the 440 motor to replace it with the -06 600 SDI. My idea was to make a durable sled at the same time as it could be used, really used....
I like the motor, but to be honest the chassies they put it in on the market are quite useless if you ask me!
I changed only the ramps in the primary clutch and left everything else as it was concerning the drive train.
This worked likRead More...

So it's that sweet time at the year when summer meets winter. For the third year in a row I'm on the way south to Folgefonna, Espeland, Jondal, Bergen, Norway, Scandinavia, Europe, Tellus. .....

Not.

It all started so good. I called around and friends from near and far wanted to come along for this "dream" trip. But as the days counted down as did the people. A week ago I had to staRead More...

We took some great shots of a big drop Jerry did last winter, that we will publish here at redsherpa.com later on. Keep up the great work Jerry!

Last weekend me and som good friends went to Jorm to ride the sleds. The weather treated us allright but i´m sorry to say that the springtime is comming on strong and early this year......also we did´nt have too much snow to begin with.
It seems that we are in the final chapter of this winter so I say; let´s make it count for something.

I went to Jorm last weekend to ride with my friend Kim Tomasson but on Friday he hit one of the jumps overload-style and found himself with a broken ankle in the middle of the mountain. He had to take an ambulance to Östersund to operate. The damn boy did´nt even scream from the pain. Had it been me I´d demand to get instant access to my mom... There might even have been some tears involved. Kim, you are- "the Pain Man"

I woke up to some bad weather Read More...

Countdown ended. Commence sledding!

Okay...

First things first.
I was a bit wrong.
This snowmobile licence course I took was not as retarded as I had forseen.
So I'm no Nostradamus... Big deal.

As the weekend (four weeks ago...) panned out, I realized that there's a lot of rules that I have broken over the years. Except driving without a valid licence.

Here are a few:
Driving faster than 70 km/h
Crossing a road while carrying a passenger
Not stopping before crRead More...

After 30 some years of riding pretty much without suspension (as we like to define suspension) comfort was important. Then the technology kind of snowballed into where we are today. Or perhaps was yesterday. Yesterday Polaris intruduced the new pro ride chassis.

Nice Read More...

Countdown to frustration

The title sounds like a song made by Megadeth, and I wish this entry was about that.

It's not.

It's about the retarded journey upon which I am about to embark.
This weekend I will be tormented by my first lesson in "handling a snowmobile". Yes, I shall become a licenced sledder!

In Sweden, and if you got your regular car driving licence after jan 1 2000, you are a criminal if you drive a snowmobile without the required licenRead More...

It was ok with snow up there. Not great but ok.
Getting back home (Åre, Sweden) it started to snow like mad here. And the last day I had to work, it was some 85cm of nice powder.

So after punching out from work I sat down in the car to drive home and started to see rain drops on my windshield.
