So it's that sweet time at the year when summer meets winter. For the third year in a row I'm on the way south to Folgefonna, Espeland, Jondal, Bergen, Norway, Scandinavia, Europe, Tellus. .....
Jerry Fredriksson showing the older guys how to do whips... You might not have seen so much of this young and talanted man before, but I'm sure we get to see more great action of him further on. We took some great shots of a big drop Jerry did last winter, that we will publish here at redsherpa.com later on. Keep up the great work Jerry!
Last weekend me and som good friends went to Jorm to ride the sleds. The weather treated us allright but i´m sorry to say that the springtime is comming on strong and early this year......also we did´nt have too much snow to begin with. It seems that we are in the final chapter of this winter so I say; let´s make it count for something.
I went to Jorm last weekend to ride with my friend Kim Tomasson but on Friday he hit one of the jumps overload-style and found himself with a broken ankle in the middle of the mountain. He had to take an ambulance to Östersund to operate. The damn boy did´nt even scream from the pain. Had it been me I´d demand to get instant access to my mom... There might even have been some tears involved. Kim, you are- "the Pain Man"
I woke up to some bad weather on Saturday morning. Got on the newly bought -06 rev pro 800 sled to try it out some and then I saw that Andreas, Johan and friends from Frosty Demons were on visit to this snow paradise. They had a bunch of snow shovels sticking out of their backpacks so we went up in the mountains to build some sick jumps. One might as well handle the shovels while the weather is bad.
First things first. I was a bit wrong. This snowmobile licence course I took was not as retarded as I had forseen. So I'm no Nostradamus... Big deal.
As the weekend (four weeks ago...) panned out, I realized that there's a lot of rules that I have broken over the years. Except driving without a valid licence.
Here are a few: Driving faster than 70 km/h Crossing a road while carrying a passenger Not stopping before crossing a road Driving in a wooded area where the average tree height is less than two meters above snow level (!!!) ...and eating before swimming
Still, I stand firm in my belief that 1500 kronor is a bit steep.
I guess I might as well say this right away, I will at no time in this text reveal the exact location of this rare European version of the snowmobiling normally only found in Alaska. Cause to be honest; I rather keep it to my self.
By now I guess you figured out that I've been traveling around a bit lately.
About two weeks ago I came back from a sledding trip to Jorm, Sweden. It was ok with snow up there. Not great but ok. Getting back home (Åre, Sweden) it started to snow like mad here. And the last day I had to work, it was some 85cm of nice powder.
So after punching out from work I sat down in the car to drive home and started to see rain drops on my windshield. What the heck I thought and thought it was just melted snow. On the ten minute drive home it went from melted snow to rainforest rain. When I got home it was a waterfall I was driving in.
After a few days of this depressing weather it stopped. Now it went from a few degrees above freezing to way down below. You don't need to be a math genius to figure out what happens. After two-three days of -25 Celsius the mountains was covered in bullet proof ice.
My name is Tomas Berntsson, owner and founder of clothing brand TOBE Technology. I am not a blogger and I never read a blog in my life. You are basically witnessing me losing my virginity here.
My mother once said: "Would you also jump off the roof if everybody else said it was cool and did so?" She is an awesome woman, my mother. And she knows me so well! There was a lot of wisdom and foreseeing in my mothers tell off to her ten-year-old that came home from school with a note for sneaking in to the girls locker room.
